Log the change the day you make it
New photos, a new title, a price change, a promotion: write what changed, pick the date and the properties it applies to. One change at a time reads cleanest.
Give it 30 days
The change sits as a flag on the revenue trend. The full read lands 30 days later; until then you see a partial one.
Read it against last year
Nightly rate, occupancy and revenue for the 30 days before and after, beside the same days last year. It measures bookings and revenue, not views.
Questions
Why compare with last year?
Because most swings are seasonal. If revenue rose 20% after new photos but also rose 20% over the same days last year, the photos didn't move it. The last-year column separates your change from the calendar.
What can I log?
Anything you changed: photos, the title or description, pricing, minimum stays, a promotion. A change can cover one property or several.
How soon can I read the result?
The comparison uses 30 days on each side. Before then you see a partial read against an equally short before-window, with the date the full read lands.
Does it work for Airbnb listings?
